The Idaho Originals Project

A live musical travelogue of the people, places and stories of Idaho.  Accompanied by a slideshow of original artwork by Idaho artists inspired by the song.

Rave reviews....

“GREAT is not a big enough word for last night's performance by Crazy Love. Yes, an anthology of Idaho people and places, but add riveting instrumentals throughout original songs with storytelling lyrics - I got lost in the visualization. Don't miss any opportunity to see this duo, they are stunningly perfect together.” - Dorothy Drake

— Owner, Glenns Ferry Historic Opera Theater

“Crazy Love Duo brought their "Idaho Originals" program to Mountain Home, leaving a profound impact on our community. This beautifully crafted production wove together stories, songs, and visual art, delivering an experience that was inspirational, educational, and thoroughly entertaining. The high-quality program was entirely self-contained, and Bruce and Heather were an absolute pleasure to host. Earlier in the day, they also led a writing workshop for middle school students, sparking a high level of engagement and motivation, even the day after Halloween! One lasting idea, among many, was that a song not only moves you but makes you move. The most frequent question from attendees after the event was, 'When are they coming back??'”

— Chris Devore, Executive Director, Mountain Home Arts Council

“ What a spectacular show put on by our entertainers for the evening, Bruce Michael Miller and Heather Platts. From the moment the doors opened for the event, Bruce and Heather were welcoming to our attendees, and you could sense how much they genuinely enjoyed connecting with the community. Both before and after the show they took time to talk with our patrons, and the intimate atmosphere permeated the entire performance. The various people and places of Idaho lyrically spread across the setlist resonated with our audience. It was most definitely a uniquely Idaho experience. Crazy Love sounded even better in person than in the recordings I had listened to previously, and the act evoked a range of emotions throughout the program. ”

What is the Idaho Originals live presentation?

IDAHO ORIGINALS is a historical and contemporary musical travelogue of the people, places and stories of Idaho…

For singer/songwriters Heather Platts and Bruce Michael Miller (Crazy Love), Idaho is the land of creative possibilities. The uniqueness of its people, their open hearted, friendly nature, the richness of its history, the diversity of the landscape with its majestic, natural beauty, make Idaho an ideal environment/inspiration for writing songs.  The “Idaho Originals” presentation features Crazy Love performing eight original songs about Idaho along with the stories of how each song came about.  It also includes a slideshow of artwork by Idaho artists inspired by the songs!  An educational, inspirational, and always heartfelt performance that will leave the audience with a feeling of community, civic pride and a newfound appreciation of the great state of Idaho.
